Simple Cranberry Sauce
Ingredience
1 pint of cranberries
Orange juice or cranberry juice to almost cover the berries (water will work for this as well)
Sugar to taste, usually at least 1/3cup-1cup.
Put all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. The berries will begin to “pop”. Stir occasionally. The sauce will thicken on its own as cranberries have natural pectin.
Now you can add many different things to this basic recipe…some of these things could be:
Chunks of apple, pears, oranges (peels too!) or orange zest.
Spices-cinnamon, clove, grated fresh ginger.
You can add maple syrup instead of sugar.
This is good on all kinds of meats. Use as a sandwich spread. Put it on chicken pieces in the oven and bake it all together.
