Frozen vs. Fresh
Interested in purchasing cranberries, but unsure of which to choose between fresh and frozen? Here’s a little more information about our process and what makes each product different.
During our harvest, we use two different methods of harvesting depending on the end use. Fresh cranberries, destined for the produce market, need to maintain fresh quality until the Thanksgiving or Christmas season. We therefore harvest fresh fruit with a picker which gently plucks the fruit off the vine. Fresh fruit is great for the holidays, especially if you are mixing up a salad or a cocktail! Frozen cranberries are harvested without the need for extended keeping quality as the fruit will be in the freezer within a few days of being harvested. The added benefit of frozen cranberries is that they keep very well in the freezer as long as they are in a closed container. So if you are purchasing for baking or throwing fruit into smoothies - frozen is a good option. Either way, you can enjoy the benefits of organic cranberries year round!
